Empowering Local Queer Communities in Smaller Towns

Project duration: July 2025 – December 2025
Donor: Heartefact Fund, with the support of the European Union
Project value: RSD 550.000

Project description: The aim of the project is to empower and motivate local queer communities and individuals outside of Belgrade, to develop their capacities for self-organization, to research their needs, to improve the quality of services provided by the Da se zna! Association, and to promote the Belgrade Pride campaign, which draws attention to the difficult position of often invisible queer people in smaller towns. During the implementation of the project, five Pride caravans were organized in smaller cities in Serbia – Niš, Leskovac, Kragujevac, Čačak, and Užice. In each city, meetings and networking activities with LGBTQ+ persons were organized, and a network of activists was created that will work on improving the position of LGBTQ+ people in their local communities.
