Community Talks Held During Pride Week

As part of Pride Week, which took place from Monday, August 31 to Sunday, September 6, this year’s Community Talks, a series of panel discussions on topics that matter to our community, were once again held.

On Monday, we discussed the intersectional discrimination faced by queer Roma people. The conversation was moderated by queer Roma activist Ana Jovanović, and featured feminist and Roma activist Vera Kurtić, as well as Aldessa Georgina Lincan, director of the Romnja Feminist Library.

On Tuesday, Zoomer journalist Nemanja Marinović moderated a discussion on the queer community’s relationship to the upcoming elections. Participants included student Pavle Hrnčić from Blokada Info, Jelena Banjac from the Movement of Free Citizens, and Jelena Jerinić from the Green-Left Front.

On Wednesday, we welcomed Kolektiv Plus from Niš. The discussion on the decentralization of the queer movement was moderated by Aleksa Nikolić from Kolektiv Plus, with participants including Boba Vuletić, director of the Center for Critical Education, and queer activists Stasi Marjanović and Isidora Stojadinović.

We look forward to seeing you again next year as we continue discussing the issues that matter to us, in a safe environment and on our own terms.
